Hello World! This is Naman.

Greetings, internet world! My name is Naman Vrati, and – plot twist! – I’m not some coding prodigy who emerged from the womb clutching a Python manual. I’m a fellow traveler on this magnificent path of programming, a 2027 Computer Science Engineering student with a serious case of musicophilia (that’s just a fancy word for loving music, by the way).

While some might scoff at the idea of self-taught knowledge in this day and age (they probably haven’t seen Chuck Norris code), the internet has been my classroom, playground, and occasional existential crisis machine. Building projects like Nyaru has been an incredible journey of exploration and experimentation.

From Batch Files to Building Websites (with a Musical Interlude)

My coding story began at the tender age of nine, not with the latest JavaScript framework, but with the humble Windows Batch file (.bat). Yes, I was crafting little programs in Notepad, wielding the power of terminal commands like a digital wizard. This might sound primitive to some, but hey, it all starts somewhere, right? It was my foundation, my first steps into the world of logic and building things with code.

From there, the web beckoned, and I dove headfirst into the world of HTML, CSS, and the wonderful world of Content Management Systems (CMS) like WordPress. By 13, however, the call of a “real” programming language became too strong to resist. Enter C++, the language that truly ignited my passion for programming. A few years later, I found myself venturing into the realm of Discord bots, building my confidence with the Discord API and Discord.JS.

Fast forward to today, and my coding repertoire includes a diverse range of languages: C, C++, Dart (Flutter), React.js, JavaScript, Node.js, and Python and more (I’ve lost the track). I’ve even managed to snag certifications from esteemed institutions like IIT Bombay and IIT Delhi (my LinkedIn profile for the nerds!).

Speaking of bragging (which I try not to do, but hey, a little pride is okay, right?), I did have the incredible opportunity to visit IIT Bombay in 2018-19 for a robotics competition. While I didn’t snag the grand prize, the experience was invaluable.

The Musical Connection: Pattern Recognition is My Superpower

Now, you might be wondering what music has to do with coding. Well, for me, there’s a strong connection. I believe my pattern recognition skills, honed from years of playing various instruments (piano being my main squeeze, with forays into guitar, flute, bass flute, and banjo not violin – hey, once you learn one, others become easier!), translate beautifully to the world of code. It’s all about recognizing patterns, solving problems creatively, and building something beautiful from the ground up.

Why This Blog? Sharing the Journey and Maybe a Few Laughs Along the Way

The idea of a blog has been brewing in my mind for a while now. A space to share my college and professional experiences, to offer a helping hand to fellow coders on the same path, and maybe even document some tricky concepts for my own future reference (because let’s be honest, sometimes our brains decide to hit the reset button on what we learned last week!).

Expect a mix of content here: educational posts, development tutorials, glimpses into college life, the occasional musical musing, and maybe even some random ramblings. Think of it as a friendly conversation, where we can all learn from each other and, hopefully, have a few laughs along the way.

The Road Ahead: Keep Learning, Keep Building, Early Retirement Dreams

My future goals are clear: conquer the world of Data Structures and Algorithms (DSA), master various development frameworks, and land an amazing job that will pave the way for my ultimate dream – early retirement fueled by financial independence! And then, perhaps, the world will be graced with the musical stylings of yours truly (although, world domination through code might be a tempting option too!).

So, buckle up and join me on this wild ride! Whether you’re a seasoned coder or just starting out, there’s always something new to learn and share. Let’s explore the world of programming together, one line of code at a time. And hey, if you have any questions, tips, or even just want to chat about music, feel free to leave a comment below!
